IP Office R4 CD for User and Admin 700428576
The Avaya IP Office system includes a robust set of tools for administration (Manager), call tracking (SMDR), system monitoring and diagnostics (System Status Application), to name a few. Additionally, the ability for users to manage their own calls is supplied through a simple GUI (Phone Manager). Phone Manager functionality can also be enhanced through simple licensing and to support IP softphones. Additional applications, such as synchronizing voice mail messages in Microsoft Exchange e-mail InBox for easy message management; scheduling conferences, uploading documents for real-time viewing, and managing audio privileges for conference calls; and agent reporting and PC wallboards for call center environments can be added when needed. The Auto Attendant application enables callers to route their own calls to the relevant department/person without the need to speak to an operator/receptionist. Receptionists/operators can take advantage of the SoftConsole GUI application to present a professional view of the business to all callers. TAPI (Telephone Applications Programming Interface) support enables IP Office to be linked to Microsoft Outlook and other popular desktop applications for screen pops and PC-based telephony management. Investment protection is offered through handsets supported by several Avaya platforms, and provides a migration path that is forward and backwards compatible. IP Office supports IP and digital telephone operation, with large display desktop phones with sophisticated screen-driven feature access. Single button on/off control and menu driven displays are available for selected features for ease of use. Manager is an IP Office Admin Suite application. This software is included on the CD with the IP Office 4.2 Administrator Applications or the IP Office 4.2 DVD. The Admin Suite is also downloadable from the Avaya support website http://support.avaya.com. The following is included alongside the Manager suite of applications: System Monitor This is a tool for installation and main-tenance personnel. Evaluating information output by System Monitor requires exceptional specialist knowledge in data and telecommunications. Feature Key Server Only install this application on the computer which has the license key dongle for the IP Office systems fitted to its USB port or parallel port. System Status Application This is a Java application which monitors the status of the IP Office system (extensions, external lines and other resources). It displays current alarms and the most recent historical alarms. Call Status This application is for IP Office systems prior to 4.0. For IP Office 4.0 and higher, please use the system status application. .NET IP Office Manager requires .NET2. This component is installed as part of the IP Office Admin Suite if it is not already on the PC. If .NET1 is installed, this component should not be removed, as .NET1 is required by other IP Office applications such as Voicemail Pro and Conferencing Center.
The IP Office system status application requires Java. This component is installed as part of the IP Office Admin Suite if it is not already on the PC. For the installation and setup of IP Office, manager must be run on a computer which is connected directly to IP Office.
For the Manager recognition process to detect IP Office systems (Select IP Office), you can select either UDP or TCP recognition. UDP supports the use of broadcast addresses, but these are not forwarded through routers. TCP is routing-compatible, but does not support the use of broadcast addresses. However, a list of TCP addresses to be checked can be given in Manager.
In order to be able to receive the UDP broadcast, the IP Office system needs to be in the same subnet as the computer on which Manager is running. If necessary, responses to UDP broadcasts can be deactivated in IP Office. This involves using the IP Office security settings. Access is then only possible through TCP.
