Avaya IP Office Applications and Licenses
For IP Office, specific features and applications are enabled by means of licensing.
There are various licensing options available for the IP Office 400 systems. This is a combination of a hardware dongle and software in the form of a license server application.
If you are using an IP Office 412 or expanding an existing IP Office 400 by adding licensable applications or features, you may encounter these user variants.
For IP Office 500, licensing is tied to the Feature Key Card, without which an IP Office 500 system will not work!
The distinction as to whether the IP Office can only run in Standard Edition or whether the system is authorized to use Professional Edition and therefore all the system characteristics is determined by the presence of the correct license in the system. Licenses are generated for the specific feature key card serial number in the form of a 32-digit character combination and stored in the IP Office configuration data.
IP Office 500 Systems running Standard Edition are not expandable. The Professional Edition Upgrade License is required to operate expansion modules on the IP Office 500. An IP Office 500 which is only running Standard Edition also has limitations in terms of the functionality available.
The 32-character license key is in the customer-specific IP Office configuration. The Feature Key Card Number and the License Key are tailored to one another. Only if the card matching the License Key is detected in the card reader of the IP Office 500 will the licenses purchased for the system be activated as "valid". With the exception of the IP DECT solution, which applies a special license routine, all licensable features and applications are activated using this IP Office licensing scheme.
License Keys can either enable complete features or allow them for a specific number of users.A combination of feature and user permissions is also possible with the License Key.Multiple licenses, listed in a CSV file, can be maintained within the configuration by using the service tools' import function.
